Castles

The landscapes of the Canavese and Lanzo Valleys feature numerous medieval castles and fortresses, which testify to the ancient presence of noble families.

Many of these residences are now used as museums, accommodation facilities for elite tourism, public offices or private homes. Among the best known, the Castle of Masino, Ivrea, Pavone, San Giorgio and the Ducal Castle of Agliè, Unesco heritage and belonging to the circuit of the Royal Residences of Piedmont.

The castle of the Conti Francesetti, in Mezzenile, is an architectural complex made up of various buildings that are distinguished by the function attributed to them. The castle has undergone various alterations over the years, without however being too modified. The chapel of Sant'Anna is connected to the castle by means of a suggestive gallery.

Immerse yourself in the evocative atmosphere of another era by exploring these splendid ancient castles with curiosity, which stand out among the surrounding landscapes.
