Route - Bike Around Turin: Lanzo - Avigliana

Very nice route at the foot of the mountains, between Lanzo valley and Susa valley.

From Lanzo go up and down the mountain to get to Caselette under the Musinè, then enter the Susa valley and reach Avigliana.

You travel mostly on asphalted roads with mixed traffic, very popular with cyclists. The beginning, going downhill, is in the direction of Cafasse and Fiano, where you begin to climb up across the Ceronda stream, pass the Truc di Miola and with climbs that are never too demanding you arrive first at La Cassa and then at Givoletto.

After passing the Casternone stream, turn left towards Alpignano and arrive at the entrance to the Val di Susa. Continue to Caselette, at the foot of Musinè, the mountain closest to Turin, and following the Valsusina cycle path for a while, you go towards Almese. Before arriving in town, turn onto the Terre dell'Ovest cycle highway, in an urbanized context that leads to Avigliana.

0 - Lanzo railway station. Take via Roma to the left, then turn left again onto via Frasca.

0,6 - At the roundabout take via delle Valli (provincial 2), then continue right towards Cafasse and cross the Stura.

1,4 - Turn right leaving the provincial road and taking the road that runs along the mountain.

3,3 - Return to provincial road 1 which, with some ups and downs, goes towards Turin.

7,1 - Turn right to Fiano.

8,6 - In Fiano turn left into via Torino, and shortly after right into via Susa (provincial 181) downhill.

10,1 - After crossing the Ceronda stream, the road begins to climb.

11,9 - You pass through the hamlet of Truc di Miola.

13,9 - You reach La Cassa, which you cross by continuing on the provincial road 181.

16,8 - With various ups and downs you get to Givoletto.

17,4 - Turn right into via Brione leaving the provincial road for a stretch, to return after a few hundred meters, continuing the descent.

20,4 - After passing the Casternone stream, turn left towards Alpignano.

21,4 - Turn right into via Val della Torre towards Caselette.

23,9 - At Caselette, turn right into via Roma, to continue in the direction of Almese.

24,9 - You enter the busy provincial road 24, towards Almese.

26,2 - Turn right on the Terre dell'Ovest cycle motorway which leads to Avigliana.

29,0 - At the Milanere hamlet, turn left.

30,2 - Turn right on the cycle path that runs along the provincial road 24.

32,2 - Turn left on via Almese.

33,7 - Arrival at Avigliana train station.
