Lakes

The territories of Lanzo and Canavese valleys have a large number of lakes, which are worth admiring up close.

These are mirrors of water that amplify and reflect the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Some are more difficult to reach and then turn out to be an almost unexpected surprise once reached.

Others meet more easily, giving, in any case, a sensorial impact that is difficult to forget.

Alpine lakes can be of two types: glacial and artificial; these latter are those found at a higher altitude.

In Lanzo Valleys there are almost 100 between small and large Alpine lakes. Among the most famous, you can come across Gran Lago, the largest Natural Lake in Lanzo Valleys, Vercellina Lake, the panoramic lake of Monastero and Lago della Rossa, the largest semi-artificial body of water in the area, loved for its variety of stunning landscapes. In Canavese area you can find the third largest lake in Piedmont, Viverone Lake, as well as the famous Candia Lake, Ceresole Lake and the 5 Ivrea lakes of glacial origin, all to be discovered! During your excursions in the area you will have the opportunity to reach these lakes, discovering the beauty of their waters, which in many cases reflect the blue of the sky and the peaks of the mountains that surround them.
