Natural parks

In Canavese area and in Lanzo Valleys there are numerous parks and nature reserves that you will have the opportunity to explore.

Gran Paradiso National Park is the oldest protected area in Italy, which extends for over 2200 hectares.

The official symbol of the park is the ibex, but within the naturalistic area, an ideal setting for the life of a rich fauna, it is often possible to spot chamois, marmots, eagles and other birds of prey. You can reach a height of 4061 meters, thus discovering beautiful landscapes characterized by rocks and glaciers. This park is the ideal place for hiking, sporting and recreational activities, thanks to its dense network of paths and streets. The environment of the park is mainly alpine, with the presence of large valleys created by the movement of the streams.

In this area there is also the Natural Park of Lake Candia, with over 400 species of flora and 250 varieties of birds and numerous nature reserves, including that of Sacro Monte di Belmonte and Monti Pelati.

Among the parks of Lanzo valley we cannot fail to mention, for charm and beauty, La Mandria natural park, a protected area located between the Stura di Lanzo stream, the Ceronda stream and the north-west area of Turin and Venaria Reale.

La Mandria is the largest walled park in Europe, with a fenced area of about 3000 hectares, surrounded by large green spaces, the charm of La Mandria castle, a Unesco heritage site, and a wide and relaxing walk that can also be covered in cycling and embracing pleasant and diversified refreshment points for visitors.

An opportunity therefore to breathe a magical atmosphere, not too far from the city and the wonders of Venaria Reale.
